Tkay Maidza has finally announced the long-awaited follow-up to her 2016 self-titled debut. Sweet Justice Her second LP, arrives November 3 via 4AD, while the lead single, “Ring-A-Ling,” is out now.
Younger minds may be summoned Sweet justice A disjointed album, but the project’s title comes more from Maidza’s new relationships with friends like Stint, Kaytranada, and Flume — who produced the record — rather than any ill-will you could wish for an ex. “Sweet justice It was a way for me to channel my feelings from what I had experienced in the past two years,” the rapper said in a statement. “It is a diary of things and thoughts that I kept to myself. Making the record has been such a therapeutic experience and I’m grateful to work with producers who have inspired me throughout my career.”
Rather than wallowing in the past, “Ring-A-Ling” sees Midza happy and independent in the present. “I wanted to make a powerful song that tells others that my biggest focus is on my goals,” our former Artist of the Month said of the single.

Sweet justice It arrives on CD, standard black vinyl, orange/yellow vinyl, while those who pre-order standard vinyl will receive an exclusive 7″ Maidza cover of Pixies’ “Where’s My Mind?” The artist has upcoming performances in support of Lizzo and Flume, while she will also perform at Pitchfork Festival Paris in November. Maidza’s last project was The past year has been strange Triple EP, released from 2018 through 2021. Earlier this year, she made her comeback with the single “Silent Assassin”.
