Ryan Gosling covers Matchbox Twenty’s “Push” for Barbie: Stream

As if Kane’s portrayal, committing to the part in interviews, and sentimental song “I’m Just Kane” weren’t enough, the actor has now delivered. Barbie Another gift for fans: He covered Matchbox Twenty.

The song appears on a deluxe version of the movie soundtrack called best weekend release ever, which also features Brandy and Kathryn Carlile performing “Close to Fine” by the Indigo Girls. While this track served as a sort of travelogue for Barbie, “Push” provides a similar soundtrack to Kens of the world.

In the film, “Push” first appears when Gosling’s Ken offers to “play guitar at” Barbie, a reference to the inexplicable desire of men to serenade women against their will. Soon after, all of the Kens in Barbie Land sing the song to their own Barbie at the same time. The moment suggests a terrifying moment of awareness for males of determination, but Gosling’s absurd effect on Rob Thomas’ voice makes it all worth it. Check out the cover below.

Along with two Gosling songs, Barbie: The Album It features original tracks from Lizzo, Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Tame Impala, HAIM, and more, as well as duets from Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj that sample Aqua’s popular “Barbie Girl.”
