America is witnessing a funeral revolution

The winds of the funeral revolution are blowing over America. According to American anthropologist and archaeologist Shannon Lee Dowdy, author of a book on reinventing funerary traditions in the 21st century.^H Century, the United States is going through an unprecedented period of shifting customs around death.

In an interview on the occasion of our report on human composting, which is gradually evolving across the Atlantic (read our Seattle report) and is now of interest to France, I made it clear that this new environmental practice is part of a more global development. In less than half a century, the United States has transitioned from burial after embalming to many funerary rites. Revolution also expresses the changes taking place in American society.
