Slaughter Beach, Doug read their next album, Crying, laughing, waving, smiling. The full LP arrives September 22nd via Lame-O Records, and along with the news, the band has announced new headlining North American tour dates and shared the record’s first single, “Float Away.”
Since launch 2020 at the base of the moon, Slaughter Beach Dog frontman Jake Ewald has moved from his old home in Philadelphia to the Poconos Mountains. This move upstate inspired the artist to listen to folk singer-songwriters like Neil Young, Randy Newman, and Tom Waits. You can hear their influence in “Float Away,” a cheerful ode to the Delaware River in which Ewald sings the content, “We’ll never go back to New York now.”
After completing a UK tour this summer, he will be supporting Slaughter Beach, Dog Crying, laughing, waving, smiling A North American tour extending into the new year.
