Yasmine Damil, the wife of rapper MF Dome, said her late husband died of a rare and severe reaction to blood pressure medication, a condition known as angioedema.
British-born rapper Daniel Dumile passed away on October 31, 2020, at the age of 49. Until now, the cause of his death has not been revealed.
However, the inquest into his death has provided new details about the circumstances that led to his death (via LeedsLive). Yasmin said her husband suffers from a number of health conditions, including kidney disease and high blood pressure. He was prescribed an ACE inhibitor to treat his blood pressure, but after only two doses he developed swelling in his mouth and throat, which led to breathing problems.
MF DOOM was taken to hospital at St James’s Hospital in Leeds, where his condition deteriorated and he was placed on a ventilator. Because of the pandemic, Yasmin was not allowed to be with her husband in the hospital.
Yasmine believes that the negligence of the staff at St. James Hospital contributed to her husband’s eventual death. Specifically mitigating that medical staff failed to check on her husband frequently and was two hours late in administering medication. The inquiry continues.
