Studiocanal’s Blue Fox Entertainment has acquired the US rights to Cédric Klapisch (“The Spanish Apartment”) and “Rise” (“En corps”).
One of the highest-grossing French films of 2022, it has sold nearly 1.3 million admissions in domestic theaters and has been sold out worldwide. The film tells the story of a young ballerina whose life is turned upside down when she suffers a career-threatening injury and discovers her boyfriend is cheating on her. As I began physical and emotional rehabilitation, I found solace in friends, new love, and a new contemporary dance group.
Dancer-turned-actress Marion Barbeau gives a stellar performance in the lead role, meeting French stars, including François Civil (“The Three Musketeers”), Beau Marmay (“How I Became a Superhero”) and Denis Boudalidis (“Anaïs in Love”) , as well as Hofesh Shechter (“Send Me an Angel”).

Blue Fox is planning a theatrical release of “Rise” in June. The deal was brokered by James Huntsman, owner of Blue Fox, and Chloe Marquet, Studiocanal’s head of international sales.
Kalabsch is best known for his famous trilogy, which began with the movie “The Spanish Inn” in 2002, and continued with the films “Russian Dolls” and “Chinese Puzzle”, all starring Romain Duris. The director is currently working on “Greek Salad,” an eight-part mini-series for Amazon Prime Video, a spin-off of “L’Auberge Espagnole” set 20 years later. Klapisch was also the art director for the first season of “Call My Agent!” and the release of the first two episodes.
