Dave, who wrote the bestselling novel on which the show is based, and Singer, her husband and co-author, tell us how the seed for the idea came from seeing the Enron CEO’s wife come to terms with her husband’s crimes.
“I got caught up in the idea of: Can we know the people we like? And what does it mean to try to get to know the people we like?” Dave explains.
They also touch on the importance of needle drops The last thing he said to me, which includes the Springsteen Classic and Emmylou Harris as Garner’s Favorite Artist. Tyler also rehearses the music, gushes about when she puts Metallica in an elevator, and tells us how doing more directing affects how she gets into a role.
