Elusive artist Jay Paul came out of hiding this weekend to perform his first-ever live show — at Coachella, no less.
His track list included songs like “Higher Res”, “He”, “Crush”, “BTSTU”, “Jasmine”, “Str8 Outta Mumbai”, “Do You Love Her Now” and “All Night”.
Paul thanked fans on Reddit ahead of his historic Coachella performance. “I just wanted to acknowledge the real chiefs here and let you know so much how much I appreciate you for sticking with me all this time,” he wrote. “I hope it’s all worth it.”

Paul broke out in 2010 with the song “BTSTU” uploaded to Myspace which, despite his anonymity, soon caught the attention of Drake and Beyoncé. Two years later, he released “Jasmine,” another single that appealed to 2000s music bloggers and DIY enthusiasts alike. However, in 2013, an album of unfinished songs leaked onto the internet, devastating Paul and sending him into hiding. He finally released the songs on his own terms in 2019, and the album is now ready to receive a vinyl pressing.
