One of the main reasons we choose to visit a destination is the allure of wonders it holds. Whether it is man-made or natural, historical or avant-garde, tourist attractions invite us to travel to the other side of the world to see them. But not all of them keep their promises.
So what are the things worth spending time and money on?
Stasher researched 99 of the world’s best and worst tourist attractions through his study. This study considered a range of data, including Google ratings, accommodation quality by Booking.com user ratings, tourist safety by country ratings by WorldPopulationReview and rating by GPI (Global Peace Index) of the host country, distance from the airport and participation on TikTok based on accumulated views.
The best tourist attractions in the world
It is perhaps surprising to note that first place goes to a building Hungarian Parliament in Budapest. It is spacious and modern, dominating the Danube River and housing the National Assembly of Hungary. It gets an overall rating of 7.34/10 on the list and a rating of 4.8/5 on Google. Hungary also has an excellent tourist safety rating of 1.4/5, with a lower rating representing greater safety.
The second place goes to a slightly more general site, Disneyland ParisDisneyland Paris is highly rated for the quality of its accommodations, has a solid 4.5/5 rating on Google, and is hugely popular on TikTok with nearly eight billion views on tagged posts.
Third place goes to blue lagoonIceland’s iconic geothermal pools that make you feel like you’re on another planet. With a rating of 7.15/10, the volcanic landscape and bright blue waters rich in silica are not only rejuvenating for the body and soul, but also famous for the visuals. Iceland is also a very safe country, with a safety rating of 1.1/5.
