Phoebe Bridgers swapped her skeleton pants for a patchwork dress when she sang the part of Sally on Danny Elfman’s live broadcast The nightmare before christmas Concerts in London this weekend.
Bridgers sang “Sally’s Song” and “The Kidnapping of Sandy Claus” at the ceremony, while Elfman reprized his role as Jack Skellington and Ken Page returned to portray Oogie Boogie. Greg Proops, Randy Crenshaw, Fletcher Sheridan and violinist Sandy Cameron also performed at the show, while John Mosseri conducted the BBC Concert Orchestra. Watch clips from Bridgers’ performance below.
Blending the macabre quality of Halloween with the grandeur of Christmas is kind of a total Bridgers thing, so it makes sense that she joined Elfman at his latest party. Bridgers’ turn as Sally followed last year’s shows, with Billie Eilish playing the character.

Bridgers recently released “So Much Wine,” the latest in their annual series of Christmas covers, and we quickly named the somber track our song of the week. Meanwhile, we caught up with Elfman to discuss his busy 2022, which has included a remix album, two performances at Coachella, and two gigs at the Hollywood Bowl. Read that interview here.
